Has anybody attended or know someone who has attended the Heifetz International Music Institute for piano? I plan to go there this summer but have no idea what to expect because I don't know any pianists who've been there. The program sounds great because it's exclusively chamber and solo music, and the faculty looks pretty solid (Barry Snyder from Eastman and Victor Rosenbaum from NEC, plus guest artists like Natalya Antonova, Andre Watts, and Horacio Gutierrez, etc).

From what I gather, this festival is more focused on strings than piano, but like I said, I don't quite know what to expect. If anybody knows anything about the piano program at Heifetz, please tell me anything at all! Stuff like:
--How do they arrange chamber groups? Are the groups and music assigned?
--Who did you study with and how did that work out?
--How did the two lessons per week schedule work out for you?
--What is the environment generally like? Friendly? Relaxed? Competitive? Rigorous?
--How did you like the communications classes?
--What is the general age group of people who attend?
--What did you love and hate about the program?
--What did you do for fun in Wolfeboro, NH?

Any information, comments, or recommendations at all would be helpful. They won't send me my student handbook and additional information until I pay all my tuition, so I have to wait a bit longer and I'm dying to know. Thanks!

Yours curiously,
Jessica T.
