Whew! That's good about getting the proper diagnosis, but bad that he's so sick. I hope he'll be recovering quickly. Keep us posted on his progress.

Peggy,

I'm sorry to hear he is so ill, but I am glad he is at a good hospital.

Peggy,

I sincerely hope your he gets to feeling better. I have come to learn that "bug them until someone listens" is, unfortunately, the only way to handle such situations. (No disrespect to the good doctors and nurses on this site--they are simply over worked for the most part.)

Peggy... I think it's sometimes not so much a particular hospital but who happens to be on duty. The medical field, like any other profession, has it's share of good, bad and ugly!

Sounds like your Dad is in good hands. I do hope your Mom has been able to calm herself a bit after all the stress.

I'm glad you were there to help both of them through some difficult moments.

i dont like to second guess anyone, but to write off someone with that constellation of symptoms and history, as "a viral disease", needs to reasses their competence.

I'm very happy he is being treated the way he should be. You were smart to keep pushing until you found someone who listened.

Pneumonia seems to be going around this year. I know 6 people that have gotten it over the last 2 weeks, including my fiancee. Maybe we should all be taking extra vitamins!!

Well, I'm glad to hear he has a diagnosis of pneumonia rather than one of those other, potentially more lethal diagnoses(although pneumonia can kill you as well).
I suspect the initial xray was either misread or the pneumonia was not visualized because of dehydration.
Peggy, your Dad is lucky to have you!!

Peggy, I can't add much to the words of prayer & support you got earlier in the thread, or the words of thanks that your Dad's in good hands now, but know that even seeing your thread this late, your Dad & your whole family are in my prayers too. smile

Peggy,

Hope your parents are doing better. You did the right thing by going to another hospital.
