It's Fun to Play the Piano ... Please Pass It On!
Wow Frank, this IS a big move. But I'm sure that this winter when you read about all the north easterners shoveling snow and scraping ice, you'll be smiling like the Cheshire Cat!
As you should already be in Florida by now, I wish you all the best. We're all expecting an update on how your relocation went. Don't forget to send some pictures too, if you took any.
Best regards, Roger
Music is the wine that fills the cup of silence. Estonia 190 - Serial # 6561
I arrived late yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon. Drive down was pretty uneventful other than some torrential rain in Georgia.
I can tell you August is not the best time for a slightly overweight (ok, more than slightly) older guy to be carrying stuff up to a second floor condo in Florida.
To make it more interesting, the A/C wasn't working in the Condo, so I couldn't even get cooled off when I was done (got it fixed today).
I did take a few pictures on the way down, although I have to tell you it's a bit tricky driving a U-Haul truck pulling a trailer with a car on it, doing 70 MPH, and trying to take pictures :-)
Bear 1, I'll be happy to take you and Anita up on your offer.

Glad to hear you arrived OK, Frank. The winter weather will be quite a contrast to CT. Good luck in your new location.

frank, best wishes for a bright and brilliant new future in this next chapter of your life. new beginnings can be scary, but also thrilling and liberating. may you land on your feet in florida and find prosperity and fulfillment in all that you do.
i guess we won't run into each other in new york and new england very much any more, but i hope there will still be plenty of opportunities to get together (ptg national next summer?)
Please tell me you have a more comfy chair other than what is pictured here!!! Maybe you just hadn't unpacked the multi-position,ergonomically correct chair from the u-haul yet, right??!!
I will personally miss your presence at our local gatherings. I value the opportunity I've had in getting to know you.
I know you will find a tremendous amount of enjoyment in your new location! (and I'm NOT talking about the weather!!)

Thanks Terrytunes/Pique' and everyone else.
Yes TerryTunes, I have a new egonomically correct office chair, just hadn't built it yet.
I do expect to still attend some of the New England events (the Mason & Hamlin tour, the Cape [when they have it again], etc.).
And I hope to find some people down this way who want to host Piano Forums parties.

Actually, I had always figured that PW deserved the penthouse floor of a large and imposing skyscraper. Kinda neat to think that something that reaches so many people can be run out of a PC in somebody's bedroom.
Hope you get settled in quickly, Frank. I'll be envying you when the first snowfall hits. Actually, I envy you now... the condo complex looks wonderful. Is your unit on the lake itself?

p.s. You need to update your profile location.
Well, it is on the top floor of the Condo :-)
The "lake" is a canal, part of the Inland Waterways. The "A" is pretty close to where I am (I'm in the 4th building from the left in the complex).

Frank, the thing in the third picture looks like a sun dog. It's caused by ice crystals and sunlight. Usually there are two, one one each side of the sun.
I hope it symbolizes success and happiness in your new home.
Well, I certainly wish you the best. Ft. Lauderdale's classical music scene is pretty non-existent. Maybe you can help get something off the ground there.
