I'm getting into the whole MP3 thing for skip-free entertainment while I'm running. So my research drags me through pop-culture as it is inseparable from the well-informed teens on the relative merits of the technology. I have been shocked to find that a) kids care about the Michael Jackson trial and b) they think (they *know*, actually) that he is innocent.

And now he's been rushed to the ER to further turn his trial into a circus.

Does anybody here seriously think this man (person?) is innocent?

I think he is a total freak. I don't think he is completely responsible for what he has become, I think that fame, fortune, his parents, and greedy/needy people have helped in pushing him down that path. It's very sad. It's also very sick. I honestly don't know whether he is innocent or not.

That phrase always bothers me. You're *considered* innocent until proven guilty...but true guilt or innocence doesn't change with a jury decision.

Just like OJ...he is/was guilty, until and after he was proven innocent

If he isn't guilty, he certainly wasn't very smart. If I were rich, famous, and loved kids, I certainly wouldn't have them over to my house unsupervised for visits.

Did everyone forget about the physical evidence found at Neverland? What... was it planted like OJ's glove?

Please... they found porn magazines with Michael's and a child's fingerprints on the SAME page.... I know I know, it's possible it was all innocent fun *eyes roll* ...

People who say they "know" Michael's innocent (or guilty) are not being rational.
There are only two people who really know what happened, Michael and the boy.

The rest of us can never know the truth.
The truth-substitute we are stuck with is a verdict from the legal system.

Even then, guilty people are found innocent, and vice versa.

I don't know if he's guilty or innocent. And, I don't know if this could ever be done but if he IS guilty the parents of the boy ought to be held accountable in some way for child abuse.

Was watching the news this past weekend and Geraldo Rivera said he thinks Jackson is innocent.

Probably because Geraldo knows that will get him more media attention, and word of mouth like this.

In fact I wouldn't be too suprised if this entire thing was cooked up by Jackson for the free publicicy.

They say the only bad publicity is no publicity.

Yeah, Jackson definitely needs more publicity... especially publicity that labels him a child molestor (?)

Michael Jackson is past the need of any publicity. He has hit a level few have, or will. He is truly a superstar. Like U2, if he wants publicity, he merely needs to walk a city street in broad daylight.

I think justme brings up a good point. How many times does he have to be accused of child molestation before parents stop letting their kids "hang out" with him ... in his bed ... in the middle of the night.... unsupervised?

Innocent? Guilty? Definitely ill.

Well, NY, we do need to keep up the appearance of justice if we're going to "haul the guilty b*st*rd in and give him a fair trial...."
