Nice pics and great piano! Got mine about this time last year, too. Hope you enjoy your 1st year with it as much as my wife and I have enjoyed ours.

ouch ivier, I bet your heart just sank when you saw that crack. glad it got resolved/replaced. speaking of children, my 5 yr old was doing some really cool spoken word skat to my improv today, it was unreal. I wish I had the tape rolling, cause I bet if I asked him to do it he would refuse. lol.

hv, I got a pc88 too, never regret that purchase. smile How long before your Nordiska got settled in enough for the first tuning?

tootalll, your avatar changes every post. lol.

so everyone remembering your new piano I have a question, how long before your first tuning? I got a free tuning within 90 days, and it seems to be pretty stable now. (and not really to bad out of tune either) should I wait a month or so or just schedule for next week?

Congratulations on the Nordiska. She's a beautiful piano.

How does it sound in it's new house? Your thoughts on it after having it for 6 weeks?

I have the Nordiska 185 Imperial.

Followup post - still loving the piano almost 2 years later, no problems yet. It's tone has maybe improved slightly as the hammers are breaking in, but really not much change at all. I've had it tuned twice so far, but both times it wasn't really that far out of tune. The piano seems surprisingly stable for a new piano. My tech likes it, says it's easy to work on and holds it's tune well. In all I'm very pleased with my choice.

Although I haven't been around the piano forums much since my purchase I would like to thank everyone again for a great resource!

As a side note - almost 2 years later the TV is finally out of that room!! Now I can play while my son is watching his afterschool cartoons.. laugh

Notice the black circle felt under the pins.

Some brands have but some don't.

I wonder why.

No idea, my uneducated guess is that they may be required for duplex scaling?

Maybe the piano god will speak.

10 year check in. Still keeps in tune like a champ, even through moves and a short stint in storage and is really settled in and opening up. I love it. My tuner is coming monday to do a full regulation. It doesn't really need it, but figured it's due and since I'm playing it a lot right now I figure any extra I can get out of it is worth it. Just was thinking that I had it now for ten years and then I remembered piano forums. laugh

Congratulations again on the Nordiska Grand, and thanks for the update!

I actually played a few of those back in the day when I was shopping for a new piano and thought they looked and sounded nice.

And, next time don't stay away so long (although 10 years can fly by smile )....

By-the-way, I like your quote in your sig-line. There's a lot of truth to that statement.

All the best,

Rick

Thanks for the two year update and now this ten year update!

Also, always fun to read older threads and see who was a regular back in the day. Funny that a poster named tootalll changed his avatar frequently, and now it's a broken link. Or maybe that's more sad than funny...

So, tenuki, don't be a stranger. Btw, there are several posters here from the Seattle area, and other parts of the Pacific Northwest & BC. I used to visit up there two or three times a year until my brother passed away a few years ago, so I know Seattle well. Haven't been back since his funeral, but miss it. He spent most of his adult life in Kent and Auburn, but the last year or so he'd moved up to Everett. Our mom grew up on Whidbey Island, and I've spent a lot of time there too, even lived on Whidbey for a couple years when I was young.
