JGOO\'s Place

See ya' there!!

While one who sings with his tongue on fire
Gargles in the rat race choir
Bent out of shape from society's pliers
Cares not to come up any higher
But rather get you down in the hole
That he's in.

Okay, I'll bump this one once for those who missed it. When the CR shuts down, I hope to meet you all there for some more CR-like discussions!

BTW, Larry has a place too. Check it out here:

http://www.pianos.bravehost.com/

There are already CR people at both places.

Goodnight everyone!

Can you register for Larry's site? I don't see a sign-up page.

Totally without class to use Frank's site to promote another.

You have a point, but please also note this passage from Frank's latest update:

From Frank\'s post :

Come Join The New CR
A few people have announced alternatives to the CR. I have no problem with this. I left the CR open for a while so people could communicate, and make other plans if they need/want to.

However, it would have been nice if the providers of the "alternative" sites had asked before posting. Would you go into someone's piano store and post a sign in their window about your store?

Under normal circumstances, I would agree with you. However, the site being "promoted" is merely an alternative meeting spot for those of us about to be displaced. It is not a commercial website that will be competing with Frank for business.

I am grateful to jgoo for offering our cyber community some degree of continuity.

Jgoo's place looks pretty good and I noted a lot of familiar avatars too.

I would echo what Plays said...it has no commercial purpose nor even any connection to pianos. It is called....The Coffee Room.

Listen, jgoo's just a nice young kid that put together a place where PW regulars can go to discuss non music related topics. Let it go.

Totally without class for you to criticize Jgoo's offer to put together a place where members can continue to interact. Are your parameters the ones that exclude a room where members can socialize?

And I tried to be civil on the way out...

You sir, are a legend in your own mind. A person
whose piano knowledge, if removed from your head, turned into gunpowder and ignited, would not make a pop any louder than a mouse's fart.

BTW, do you run a guitar forum?...

Everyone FWIW:

jgoo had the decency to PM Frank and tell him what he was doing. This shows a whole lot more class than that other site which will remain nameless.

My first loyalty will be here with PW, if there becomes no venue for civil non-piano discourse, I'll be here and jgoo's.

Yes.

I'm jgooing to jgoo's

Larry's forum has too many pop ups and frankly his last swipe at KathyK was just too much for me to overlook.

I tried to get into both sites, but Larry's link to his forum wouldn't work.

jgoo's worked fine.

I noticed that there are already 31 of the "regulars" already over there, and according to jgoo, everyone's welcome. I even noticed some news...did anyone know kenny has a hybrid car? wink laugh
