Hi all grand pianos lover,
I am just curious and wanted to find out from those who own a grand piano. If the price of the SK2 with the length of 178cm is slightly expensive than the Yamaha C3 of 186cm by US$2000 which will be the grand will you consider?
Thanks Felix

For me, I would consider the SK2. I like the Kawai action and tone better than Yamaha. But for YOU, I would consider the piano YOU liked the sound of the best. If you like them equally, heck, go with the least expensive one. Yamaha is a respected name and there are thousands of happy C3 owners. But if you like the Shigeru better, the $2000 isn't that much more in the long scheme of things.

I personally love both pianos and of course I sell the Yamahas.
Both are superb pianos and it really should come down to which you prefer the most.
when your spending that kind of money, whats another $2000 anyway. that is saying I would prefer the Kawai, but if you do, then go for it!

Even though I own and love my Shigeru, I would certainly go with the piano that SOUNDED better to me--that's how I ended up with my piano. One other consideration: if you are undecided about sound differences, the Shigeru, in my opinion, is one of the most distinctively attractive looking pianos on the market and you will have the pleasure of a personal visit and final voicing and regulation in your home by a Japanese Shigeru master piano technician.
Good luck in your decision and do make sure you try out lots of different instruments before spending your money.

It's impossible to make a judgement between these two makes without playing the specific models at hand. Good luck - both are very nice pianos! Norbert

Thanks Felix Are you posting from Singapore? Based on my tastes, I would definitely go for the SK-2, without a doubt. And besides, at that kind of price, I think the Shigeru is good value. Do make sure you get good service from the dealer however.
