A piece of work he is.....and very very Republican. He says over and over that HE is the one with an open mind. I asked him to name ONE issue on which he and the wall Street Journal editorial page differed.....That was eight months ago...he is still thinking!

At least he is thinking. Do you know what would happen if you asked your wife to name an issue on which she and Moveon.org differed?

At least the Wall Street Journal has credibility, and a reason to exist.

I am awaiting my sister's arrival from the Cape who will be here momentarily. I am babysitting her 2 labs (my poor cats don't know what they are in for this wknd) while her (& SO) head up to Bethel on another house search. My brother moved to Bridgton last year. Hmmm.. oh well, one at a time, I guess.
Maine, though very tax heavy, is a wonderful and beautiful place to live. Especially if you like to ski.

Well I'll be whatever...... laugh

I had to check here every so often like a soap opera addict, in anticipation of the unveiling of Jack Frost.

I would never have guessed two of my favorite liberal friends on this forum were married to each other. 2hearts

It's a good thing one isn't a liberal and the other a conservative! eek

Such a great name, isn't it? K and I were debating names for our girl to be born for some time and we were on very different tracks. I was stuck on a family name and whe was tryong out various new agey names, and then one day shortly before birth day she said "Sophie" and I said YES I can live with that one.......The boys are right out of the NT: James and Peter. I wasn't around to help name them......

I hope that our earlier back-and-forth in the AA thread helped to "hook" you into staying. Now, of course, without saying the actual words, you've admitted that you can understand kathy's addiction to PW - we're not just a bunch of pixels after all; we're real, thinking, interesting, infuriating, lovable people; and shucks, you're fond enough of us all to share more about yourself. That's a good thing. smile
YES, Dwain on all accounts. And wherever you are hiding, I (we) miss you.

What an entertaining and enlightening thread Jack. I've been away for the last ten days, so missed out on the fun at the beginning; however, I have to admit that I suspected you were related to Kathy from the beginning -- I noticed a lot of familiarity in your comments to and about her in your posts -- but I thought you were perhaps a brother or an in-law.

You two definitely complement each other. And I mean that in only the most positive way!

It was just what I needed Tom -- respite from a long and dark winter, with the promise of a return of spring at home.

(I'm hijacking this thread temporarily.)

Thanks for the welcome back, y'all. Kathy, I'm not surprised I missed some verbal volleyball -- isn't that the norm for the Coffee Room? It will take me a few days to read everything since March 3rd.

Bob, I found it difficult to think about piano keys while lollygagging in these Keys:

our cottage

our sunset view

my new friend

Mr. Plays on his toy

And even though I'm home, I still don't have a piano -- my action is at the RPT's shop and won't be returned until tomorrow morning...gives me extra time to do things like laundry and grocery shopping...NOT!

Plays88, since the cat was let out of the bag, this thread has been pretty much of a has-been, so I think thy hyjack will be ok.

re the pictures:

our cottage: looks nice

our sunset view: All that WATER! It must seem like being on the Ocean!

my new friend: which one is your friend? The one in white?

the Mr. plays on his toy: I'm not sure I want to open that one yet. You didn't have to develop these pictures yourselves, did you? (oh HaHa, shut up,Bob.) Seriously though, could you find one where his face isn't so washed out by the sun?

Here's one of Mr. plays and our daughter, taken last summer:

Nice pics. I'm jealous. There aren't too many places in Florida that call to me. Northern Captiva Island is one, and your picture of the Keys remind me that they are another. I was only there once (on college break). After driving through Miami and suffering the worst allergic attack I've ever experienced (could I be allergic to a city?) the Keys were a heavenly reprieve.
