whippen boy - 64' pipes are usually 32' pipes with a top cap to double the effective length, right?

No, the 64' aren't 32' with a top cap... in fact, in most organs, the 64' are only acoustic fakes, wich means it's a 32' with a 21 1/3', the two first harmonics of a 64'. I never heard about a true 32' topped... and there's only two real 64' stops in the world, one at Atlantic City (http://www.acchos.org/) and the other is in the Sydney Town Hall organ in Australia (http://www.die-orgelseite.de/kurioses_e.htm#register)

Some have 3 or 4 pipes of a 64' stop...
but they do not go to the down C.
