Hi Everyone smile

I have been putting some money aside for a digital piano , i am a beginner & i'm currently studying in Hungary (Europe) ,so my choices are somewhat limited (fewer models available , more expensive compared to US,even UK prices).

I have been reading this forum for a couple of weeks now, i have narrowd down my my choices to the following:

Yamaha : YDP113 , CLP115 , P60 .

Casio : CDP100 , PX300 , PX100 .

I Dont Care much for extra toys , midi connection etc. as far as i have a few decent sounds available, and i can play them in Dual mode.

I would appreciate any advice ,

If its available in Hungary, I would go for the replacement model for the CLP115, which is now the CLP220. They may not be available though in your market.

I would stay away from Casio based on my past experience with their quality control and warranty service.

for Yamaha, i'd choose something like CLP230 rather than anything you listed.

for Casio, get PX310 rather than all those old models!

Casios are superior instruments, durable and
reliable. The sound is excellent, and the
key action is the best of all digital pianos.
I have a Casio AP-31/24 upright. This is
the least expensive model in the Casio
upright line ($700.00 US). I bought this
last yr., and since it was a so-called
economy model I've been looking around
to "upgrade," but I can't find anything much
better than it at any price.

Of course, that is only YOUR opinion. Remember to keep that clear.

Well, here we go again.

I agree with Gyro, my Casio PX 310 sounds great and I am well pleased with it. On the other hand, I am not as happy with the sound of the Yamaha P90 (although it is a well constructed instrument). The annoying ringing overtones on a few notes on the P90 GP 1 voice were not music to my ears (however, Yamaha service said it was normal). I have not heard any complaints about the Yamaha P60.

I have not had any experience with Casio's warranty service yet; so, I can't comment on it.

It would be nice if you could try the digitals you mentioned first before you buy, if possible.

Again, these comments are just my opinion.

Best regards,

Rickster

Thanx For the replies guys , i appreciate it smile

I am going shopping tomorrow laugh

I have tried all of those except for the CLP115 .
I liked them all, the YDP113 & PX300 sounded like the best deals to me.

It looks like not so many ppl here have experience with YDP113 , which was one of the best in the bunch to my ears,i read in a post here that they sound thin ,i wish i could get some replies from the YDP owners.

The PX310 goes for $1050 ,which is $50 more than the YDP113, but has many more features ,

As i have seen posted here ,i heard a single note overtone on P90's GP setting , i don't know why ,but after you notice it ,its very annoying.

Unfortunately The CLP 220 goes for $1300 here which is above my current budget,so i didn't even Try it.

I think I have narrowd it Down to PX310 & YDP113 , any suggestion about these two or others is appreciated.

Thanx again smile
