Hi.

I'm posting to get some recommendations for brands/models of electronic keyboards. I'm a former music major, so the keyboard must be full length and must have weighted keys, at a bare minimum. I'm looking to spend up to ca. $500. As this is my first time buying a digital piano, I don't really know where to begin, so any kind of advice would be helpful.

Many thanks!

-Alex

Yamaha p70. Weighted-key pianos in that price range are tough to come by. The P70 goes for $600, but it's the cheapest that Yamaha makes and I've been very happy with it so far. The speakers suck but the key action is very nice and the headphone jacks with decent headphones sound pretty good.

Yeah, you'd actually be a bit better off with a P70 if you can find one used in your budget, or if you can swing the extra $100 for a new one.

Hm, this is actually interesting to me because I'm in the same position myself. Why the P70 over the PX110? (and if you have that extra $100), why the P70 over PX310?

I don't know the P70 but have tried the Casio Px400 at Sam's club. It has very nice heavy touch comparable to many grand pianos.
