RD700SX. Sounds and feels best in my opinion.

Generally, what are the best prices I can expect to see for the P250 and the 700SX?

Just to bring it to you attention - they just came out with Privia PX 555. I have Privia PX 400 (that new model has replaced) and I like mine a lot, but tried the new model and it truly has better, excellent keyboard action and decent or even very good speakers, plenty of nice tones (120) plus GM tones and it sells on the web for just $800. I like to layer stereo piano sound with Grand piano 1 sound on mine for truly excellent, satisfying piano sound. You should check it out. Also there are some other new Previas (110PX,310PX), that should be improved.

I've had experience with the P250, having practiced on a company's model alot on the road. It's fine, but once I picked up an RD700SX, I will not use anything else, onstage, in home silent practice, or anything else.

Don't know about P250 prices, but the RD700SX can be had for less than the quote you provide. Call Full Compass (I don't think they do internet sales; everything is through an 800 number), and they'll quote you a good price.

The P250 would be my first choice, followed by the P120. Both have the Yamaha GH keyboard; and IMO, both feel the same on recently manufactured models. The GH keyboard also feels similar to the GH3 keyboard used on newer Clavinovas. If you like a "relatively heavy" action, then you may like the Yamaha GH keyboard. The P250 has 128-note polyphony and built-in speakers at 2 x 30W. However, the P250 is relatively large and heavy at about 70 lbs. You can look at the manuals at Yamaha's website.

I tried the Casio PX-555 yesterday. Considering the price, it's impressive. Noticeably improved over older models in the PX series.

i don't think Casio PX100 is good enough for you, the action of which is pretty bad comparing with other models. personally, i like Yamaha action better, but you could try out other models, just not that PX100!

Thanks for your replies.

I was originally looking at the PX-555, but if I spend the $800, I might as well jump to the $1000 range instead (I'm not hot over the 32 note polyphony).

I'll try all these models out at the local stores, and then I'll report back with my thoughts.

Is there an edit post function for these forums?

I've hear eMusicGear.com mentioned several times here, and they seem to have a few good deals on these pianos. How are these (no tax)? How is eMusicGear's service and promptness in general?

PX310/555 ($599/$799) - They throw in just the stand.

P120 ($1199-$100) - They throw in the official matching stand, official bench, headphones, and dust cover.

P250 ($1999) - They throw in the matching stand, matching bench, and a volume pedal.
