I bought a piano not too long ago, about 4 months, and just recently, whenever i press a key (g) on the piano, it makes a click sound. Not all the time though, like..if I just press it, it wont click. But when im playing a song, it clicks really loud and ruins the whole song. Does digital pianos need tuning as well? Should I call the manufacturer? Would they replace it? Would they keep replacing it even after one year? Is this a common problem with digital pianos? Is there no way to fix it? I'm really sad about my piano, it was a present from my parents. I hope it could be fixed.

What is the brand, the model and also, was it new when you purchased it?

Well if it's new and under warranty, you can have it serviced.

There has been a lot of discussion about this brand here on Piano World of late. It is a brand (Suzuki) that is being marketed at Costco stores. Most think it's not the best choice of a quality musical instrument (although the style is striking to loo at). But, with being played less than 4 months and having an early problem, one has to wonder if it will be a service-needy digital.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Paul

Hi yuki,

If you press the key down slowly, it does not click. But if you strike the key with medium to high velocity, you hear the click, is that correct? If so, it is possible that the key weight has broken under that key. NOTE: I do not know what keybed is used in that model, but your brief description of the problem sounds like this could be the cause.

Contact the store where the instrument was purchased and ask to be referred to a service technician. If this was purchased at a Costco, it is possible that they have had similar problems with other instruments and have some sort of return policy in place.

It is a shame that you are having problems with the piano especially since it was a gift from your parents and I am sure they had nothing but good intentions. Hopefully the store that sold it will come through and take care of the problem.

Good luck with it.

Best Regards,

Dave
