Hello, I just bought few weeks ago my privia 320. Recently I noticed the sound breaking up especially in the higher octaves, if I turn the volume knob over mid-way (using internal speakers). Can someone who has the same piano confirm if this is normal behaviour?

I didn't expect the built-in speakers to be great, but it's been bothering me for sometime now, as I can't seem to remember it acting like that at the beginning. Maybe I just kept the volume at low levels before and didn't notice it.

Thanks a bunch

I've only had mine for a month but it doesn't do that. No distortion at any volume

I had a problem with mine that may be the same as yours.

Check it out and turn on your speakers

Dimimousse now that you mentioned it, I can hear some background noise when I'm using my headphones and play at low sound level (or zero volume), it's a little annoying but I can live with it since it's unhearable when playing normally. Maybe it's design flaw?

But what I'm referring to is a "tinny sound" that you can normally hear if you listen to music too loud with a poor stereo. It's most clear when I set the volume at half-way and play keys D6, E6 and F6 repeatedly. I'm not 100%, but I think the distortion comes from the left speaker.

edit:

Okay, I did some testing with a fluffy towel and now I'm positive it comes from the left speaker. But wierd enough, from time to time, it seems to disappear entirely. Maybe it has something to do with keeping the piano on for long periods of time, the piano warms up and the sound disappears, or maybe not.
