They've introduced the PX-110 , an update of the PX-100.
Casio's new Privia line-up features the new " ZPI " sound engine
(with its "tri-element waveform" pianos)

and the PX-310 , an update of the PX-300:

Both instruments feature the new " ZPI " sound engine
(with its "tri-element waveform" pianos),
a "scaled hammer action keyboard",
and weigh in at 26 1/4 pounds
Bass-reflex speaker system for richer sound.

The extra $150 cost of the 310 provides you with:
"registration memory" (setups)
191 more pre-set voices
100 more rhythms
57 less demo tunes
GM and MIDI thru
a display
and
proper L/mono,R line-outs

As far as I know, the 110 lists at $500 and the 310 at $600, so that's only a $100 increase. I've participated in almost all of the threads concerning the new 110/310s and I've even made one of my own; I'm just waiting to get a review from someone who's played one. I went to my local Sam-Ash last week to play one and they haven't gotten them in-stock yet.

Hi Rintincop. That is interesting information. I am quite familiar with the PX-100 and PX-300 and look forward to the arrival of the updates ... particularly with respect to the 3 layer acoustic pianos.

Yes, the new PX-110/310 have "Tri-element waveform" pianos whereas the PX-100/300 had "Dual-element waveform" pianos.

I like this "Scaled Hammer Action" very much. It is a lot like the Roland RD700sx action (which I own) but lighter. It is certainly very expressive and better, in my opinion, than many digital pianos out there (regardless of price).

Pros and semi-pros in my country are starting to play these boards and and I'm quite sure it won't be long until they are very popular.

Just one thing I should pass on regarding the PX-100/300 ... (this will probably apply to the PX-110/310 as well). The variation switch found on the PX-300 is essential in my opinion ... it gives a very good brighter Grand Piano 1.

Just some thoughts. Regards, Charles.
