Hello. I bought a RD700-SX digital piano a couple of weeks ago. I have managed to transfer some .mid files from my computer to the RD700-SX.

Most of the .mid files play with the default "Superior Grand" piano sound. However, one of my .mid files always plays with an organ. Even if i have my RD700 set to "Superior Grand" and i play the song, it still plays using the organ. If i open the file in Finale2006 and play it there, it plays with a piano sound. it is really wierd.

any RD700-sx users out there know of a solution?

Midi file you're playing may not be sending program change messages. Without this message each track will use the previously selected tone on RD as it's playing tone. 4 zones of your RD corresponds to the first 4 midi channels. I guess one of the zones in your RD-700SX is set to organ sound so it's playing with organ sound.

First of all you need to learn which midi channels used in tracks of the midi file and set the corresponding channels to piano tone in RD (For first 4 channels you can set it easily by selecting tones for your 4 zones) or edit the midi file so all tracks will use midi channel 1 and set 1st zone to piano in your RD
