I'm currently looking for a Casio, Yamaha, or Kawai digital piano (I doubt I'll find the Kawai for a price I'm able to afford). The less I spend the better, but my upper limit is ~$800.

The Williams digital pianos at Guitar Center seem pretty nice - at least as nice as the Casio PX700 or PX800. Is there something I'm missing? Why are they so inexpensive?

Williams digitals have been around for a long
time, which would not be the case unless they
were okay pianos. These are strictly
budget pianos, and they don't try to be
anything else, or try to be all things to
all people, so the design and manufacturing
can be kept economical and prices can be cut.
They have a niche in the digital marketplace:
these are living room pianos for people
who don't want to spend a lot; and the catchy,
familiar-sounding name is friendly to the
ears and appeals to a large segment of
the buying public, which enables them to
consistently sell well, and the good
sales volume further helps to keep prices
down.
