Hi I am new to this forum so hello to everyone smile

I got my daughter a yamaha NP-30 last year and she lost interest really quickly - we are talking two days eek - although I really enjoyed it, and found it much more fun than the guitar. we sold her np-30 as she didn't want it and it was a birthday present and she got somthing she wanted. As I enjoyed it so much I want to get myself a digital piano.

I have narrowed it down to Yamaha but, do I go for the CLP-220 @ £629.00 or the CLP-230 @ £852.00 which has the GH3 keyboard will it make that much difference to me? I am a complete beginer but picked it up quite quickly.

so any advice on this choice would be of great help and much appreciated and views on the CLP 220/230.

thanks

CLP230M with Mahogany Finish including matching bench - reduced to £819.99 at Andertons Music...

Decent deal... Especially if you are a beginner. However, it seems that most classical pianists go for roland keyboards:)

My gear: Roland FP4 digi-piano, M-audio A192 sound card , Sennheiser HD580 phones , Synthogy Ivory+ Italian Grand , soft-piano Pianoteq (highly recommended)

go for the best you can afford, not CLP220 which is really an outdated model. if you cannot afford a new CLP330-340, then get at least a CLP230 or even CLP240.

beginner or not, you want something lasting a little longer at least from technology side. with new CLP300 series out, you want to search for some good deals on CLP230 and above models.

Thanks for the replies much appreciated

I would like the CLP 330 just not sure if I can stretch that much. I had set a limit of £1000 so should I consider somthing else ?

or should I go in the shop and pester the life out of the sales guy until he lets me have it for £1000, what do you think the chances of that are? do they have much mark up?

Regards

i saw some UK site selling CLP330 for just a little bit above 1000 pound. so, you might be able to get it around your budget. if i were you, i'd try to talk with the sales guy to get some discount on it. definitely a good idea to get a new CLP330 if you could.
