I'm still new to playing the piano and I just bought a Yamaha DGX305. I will be exploring MIDI files soon and I would like to know of a recommended site that explains MIDI and how to use them.

I checked out a couple of sites that offer MIDI files but they are cheesey sounding tunes & techno like. How do I get good sounding MIDI files that are close to realistic?

Thanks for the help.

Fuzz.

Some MIDI files are good, some are not so good. You may like to try www.vanbasco.com for your searches.

I use MidiNotate software and the midi files playback through my Yamaha P-80 using it's grand piano voice. I don't know how, but some of the files for organ music playback using the pipe organ voice.
