Am I right in assuming that both of these descriptions, as applied to keyboards, means the same thing - "Velocity Sensitive or Touch Sensitive" i.e. varying pressure on the keys increases or decreases volume?

Yes, all systems measure the speed of the key. As in a sense does a piano.

In addition to measuring velocity, some have after-touch which measures the amount of varying pressure applied after the initial strike of the key.

Thanks for the info Folks, I'd seen "Velocity Sensitive" in the spec. of a Roland 61 Key Keyboard.
