They look pretty sweet to me. But how they sound would be the thing and you won't know that 'til you have them.

I don't think you'll get the low freq response you're looking for with 5" mains and an 8" sub.

I'd look for monitors with at least 8" low drivers. Have you looked at the M-audio Bx8a? I've seen them on sale for $300. Perhaps this is more speaker than you'd like?

Personally, I like the Yamaha HS80M package, but that's over a grand. Personally, I'm broke!

But, the proof is in the hearing....can't you go to a local music store and hear them?

Thanks ipgrunt,

Budget considerations are important to me too. The BX8a cost $500 on sale at MF.

I'm just trying to enhance the onboard speakers ... I don't need alot of power, it's strickly for home use (1 room).

One suggestion...used.

My local Craigs List is very active (denver area). Don't know about yours.

I think I saw the B8's used there for $300 a few weeks ago.

Perhaps you'll find something on yours?

Good luck with your search.

I own a pair of Samson Resolv 80a - and they are absolutely delicious -
I also briefly owned the Resolv 120a sub - and it was true richter-scale-shattering performance.

+++ the resolvs are very highly rated by 'sound on sound' magazine - they also have rca, 1/4", + XLR sockets

can't go wrong -but i think that the samson rubicon's are better ??

So I won't have a problem hooking up powered monitors directly to the digital piano?

Some monitors only have RCA inputs. Would a 1/4" to RCA do the trick?

resolvs have 1/4" & rca jacks - so u just need 1/4" to 1/4" - or rca to rca
