Hey folks. I'll be moving soon and I need something since I can't take my upright with me.

The main thing i'm focused on is something that sounds like a piano. I don't really need all the extras, but i'm not gonna rule anything out. The only extra I know I want for sure is a way to hook it up to my laptop. This will be strictly for home use.

Budget: The less, the better. I'd prefer a sub-$1000 price-tag but i'm open to suggestions as long as it's close to that. Thanks smile

The Casio PX-120 does more than what you asked for and can be had for less than $450 delivered. Check on Amazon.com or beachaudio.com fro instance.
Tough to beat that. But if you find better, let me know.

Make sure you try difference ones out before you commit. I think it's hard to find one that sounds like a piano. That's what I wanted too, and it proved to be a challenge. It was also hard to get a good piano feel without that ridiculous "escapement" pseudo-acoustic kerplunk feel.

I ended up with the Roland fp-4 myself.

I appreciate the replies thus far. I checked out a few yamahas at a local store. Can't recall the models, save for one, which was the p140. I plinked around on a couple more while I was there, and most of them felt a little "different" to say the least. I'll check out that casio on the web for now. Hopefully by the time I get around to the big city i'll have a few keyboards to look into. Thanks smile
