I bought my Yamaha CP33 used from a private party about 3 months go. On about 10 occations now, I've noticed that a key didn't sound in the middle of a song. When I stop and hit it again, it works fine. I can hit it 100 times and it will work fine and I've never been able to make it happen, but every couple weeks it seems it misses one.

Am I just not pressing the key like I think I did or maybe it's a double strike and I didn't lift it up enough? Both are possible, but I do think something's wrong.

Has anyone else experienced a similar symptom in a digital piano? This is the first one I've ever bought.

That happens to me every now and then on my S90es, at first I thought it was a malfunction, but lately I am pretty sure it is operator error by either striking too softly or not fully releasing the key. I have my velocity curve set to hard, and I did realize recently on some of the patches, especially the grand piano patch, I can actually strike the keys soft enough to not trigger the sample. I can do this consistently.

Yeah, I noticed this same thing but only rarely. I consider it to be operator error too, although it could be some bug in the internal software/hardware.

Ok. Operator error sounds better than a repair bill. I'll go with that.
