I'm a piano novice that wants to get a keyboard that will be as close as possible to the touch and feel of a regular piano but will be lighter, smaller and take up less room. My prospective piano teacher is concerned that I will have difficulty shifting from a digital keyboard to her regular acoustic piano. Since I have no hands-on experience with digital keyboards, I could use some advice. I have been looking at the spec's of the Roland RD-700 which seems to be a good fit. However, Roland has a new model of the FP series coming out in late May called the FP-5C. Are these Roland models good choices for my needs and how will they compare? Finally, can a less expensive model from either Roland or Yamaha give me the "piano like" keyboard that is my primary requirement?
