Hi All.
I'm new to the board.

I play a Yamaha P-150, that is 8 years old. It's an excellent piano, and I have really enjoyed it. Also use it for my own piano web site, and it gives me great quality of sound. Haven't had any difficulties with it until recently.

That being said, the action on the keys seems to be becoming more touchy these days. some days I'll press a key firmly and no sounds comes out, but the next day I can't repeat the problem. It becomes difficult to play softly but firmly.

Any ideas on the problems, and recommendations as to what to do? Have not had the piano serviced ever, but have kept it very clean, dust free, etc.

Any of those wanting to hear it are welcome to listen at my web site. I record from the P-150 directly into a Fostex burner, and the CD then is transferred to the PC and uploaded to the web site.

Thanks, look forward to hearing from you. This looks like an excellent forum. I'm not sure why I didn't find it sooner!

Regards,

Van Day

I'm not sure how to go about servicing a digital piano. I'm guessing sending it back to Yamaha would probably be very expensive. Maybe you should call around your local area and see if any of the electronics shops have experience with them (or maybe piano stores that sell digitals)? Or you could try calling Yamaha (if they have free support) and asking them what you could do...

I think servicing it yourself should probably be a last resort. I'll be interested to hear how it goes though.

Good luck!
