My Kawai Professional Stage Piano MP9000 has a busted key ("f" below middle "c"). It makes a clicking sound, rests slightly below the neighboring keys, and only produces one dynamic range of sound: fortissimo. It's such a bummer.

This is the first digital I've ever owned and it's indispensable for practicing in a New York City apartment. People here REALLY don't tolerate musicians practicing.

Would it be inappropriate here to ask for the name of a trustwortrhy NYC-based digital repairman? And, would he/she come to my apartment or do I have to lug the thing into his shop?

The piano is well beyond its warranty.

Any help it finding a repairman would be appreciated.

Thanks.

maybe you could contact Kawai to provide you their certified technicians in your area, whom you could contact for repair.

Logical, but the manual for the piano has no contact phone numbers, etc. and a Google yields nothing.

But, thanks for your suggestion. It was kind of you to help. I'm checking out local technicians who take on digitals. I found at least one who returned my phone call.

There's a repair shop in Bergenfield, NJ. Not too far. I've taken a p90 there before. O'Dibella Music.

Thank you very much. I googled "Kawai digital piano repair" which explains why the responses I got were so lame. Never thought of googling for "tech support." laugh
