Hi All,

I've got a Roland 300 SX - It has like 180 rhythms but NO STANDARD METRONOME!!

Because I play mainly through headphones, can you think of a way to get a digital metronome into my headphones? My board doesn't have a "Line In" only Headphones, Line Out and Midi In/Out.

I want to be able to hear the metronome through the headphones as well as the music.

Thanks in advance!

Well, you could perhaps route the Line Out into your PC's soundcard, then plug your headphones into the computer. This would allow you to hear both the Roland output plus any audio that the PC produces, such as a metronome click from a sequencing package.

Kind regards,
James

Amnesia, two ideas-

1) Have you checked out all the rhythms on your 300SX? Maybe there's a simple rockabilly rhythm with straight 1/8's that you could tempo down for 1/4's.

2) Go to an online site like Musician's Friend. Click on the "RECORDING" tab, then click "MIXERS"- ton of options. You could get a small mixer, run the Roland and digital metronome in and the headphones out. Looks like they run at least $150. Don't know if it's worth it to you, but it's an idea. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice all.

I'm actually looking into buying a Hard Disc recorder in the next couple of months. I guess that will come wih a metronome. So for now, I think I'll just have a metronome clicking away really loud from my laptop.

Thanks again!

Yes, it's crazy. I have no idea what Roland was thinking. That's why I added the metronome to my program.

If you're willing to hook up to a computer, most sequencers should do that for ya.
Like mine smile
