Do any of you have so much as a phone number for Young Chang/Kurzweil keyboards in the United States? The only one listed has been changed to.....nothing! My husband has had this Kurzweil PC2X for 4 years and it has been nothing but trouble. Even though he is a professional musician, he has never been able to actually use the darn thing. The first problem was remedied by the store by replacing the keyboard with another one. The second one had a problem with the power supply (begrudgingly corrected by an authorized service tech in So. Cal. who today told us that he refuses to deal with Kurzweil in any way...apparently the company is too much of a mess to work for). Anyway, it seems the second power supply is not working (always happens at opening nights in the theater!!). Thank goodness for our old, beat-up, cheap Yamaha electronic pianos, synth, and tone module.

Anybody out there have some ideas on how to get Young Chang/Kurzweil to own up to this junk? Or do any of you know where these next-to-impossible-to-find parts (power supply) might be located?

Thanks for your help!
Lola

I cannot believe that a well-known brand
like Kurzweil does not have a service or
information number. Check the manual
that came with the piano, or the website
if they have one, or one of the many
online stores that sell them.

With digital pianos and keyboards there's no
getting around packing it up and shipping
it to the manufacturer's service center for
repairs. This would be true of any brand.
You cannot get individual parts shipped
to you by the manufacturer because only
the manufacturer's service center would
be authorized to install them.
That so-called "authorized service tech"
is probably not actually authorized
by the manufacturer, and if he's
not, then they would not ship parts
to him--that's probably why he "doesn't
deal with Kurzweil."

The manual that came with the piano should
tell you about shipping it to the service
center for repairs.

Dear Lola,
The new number for Kurzweil is 253-589-3580. Ray Heimbecher is the service manager. We do have some PC2x adapters. Young Chang and Kurzweil just reopened in January after breaking away from Samick Music Corporation. We are back in Lakewood, WA. As far as the trouble with your PC2x, we can and do fix them. If there is still a problem with this piano, talk to Ray and tell him I sent you.
