Who else likes the symphonies of Havergal Brian ? What an incredible man - his thirty-second symphony was written when he was ninety-two. The mind boggles at the thought of this pensioner living in a small council flat writing out a huge mass of incredibly original music. His later music has a type of busy, kaleidoscopic nostalgia I've never heard in another composer - I find it very attractive.
