Is anyone knowledgeable about these pianos. I'm looking at a 6'4", 22 yrs old, very good condition. If a used one is $20,000, would it be better to buy a new one?

I was offered a new 6'4" for low twenties a few months ago. Seems to me that the new one is a better value.

Today I plan on just "goin' with the flow". So don't be messin' with my flow!

While not a tech, it is obvious this piano predates the fall of Communism. This does not make this a necessarily bad piano. But it won't have a Renner action and some other refinements (the plate won't be finished as nicely, etc.). Niles Duncan has an AF not quite this old, but still before the recent changes freedom has brought. I'd say yes, the price is high. I was quoted around $26k (or was it $27k? The memory fades) for a rare pyramid mahogany finish, 6'4" new last year. If you like the piano and want to bargain for it, make sure you have a piano tech evaluate it for you.
