I heard this term the other day. Anyone know what it means?

Thanks,
Derick

My guess - that the tech voices it as best as possible for the acoustics of the showroom.

Once in a house it may need voicing for the new room.

Hmmm, I would have guessed it to be: "Attention piano shoppers! There is a special on Samick baby grands, aisle 4, for 10 minutes only..."

From what I could pick up on, I was eaves-dropping, it sounded like it meant voicing a piano very brightly. Maybe that is also known as juicing the hammers?

Just from my limited observation, it does seem that people will gravitate to brighter pianos in showrooms rather than darker pianos.

I'd agree with Brian on this one. It was just a term designating the plan to achieve an optimal sound quality in that particular milieu.

I think Nina hit it on the head. Sounds like sales talk as if "showroom" voicing is somehow preferable to factory voicing.
