For any technicians who purchased their supplies
from American Piano Supply Co., I just found out today that they have closed!
Our online store PianoSupplies.com has purchased tons of products
from them over the years, I'm very sorry to see
them go.
There was no warning, I happen to have emailed them a question, the reply came back saying sorry, they have closed their doors.

I remember when Tuners Supply in Somerville, MA went out too. Hate to see these old piano supply houses going under.
APSCO told me to direct any further inquiries to Schaff. I haven't dealt much with them.
Anyone have experience with Schaff?

Hey Frank- the APSCO -Schaff thing has been slowly going on for a year or better, very quietly. I have been dealing with Schaff for about 20 years, maybe more, ever since I found out how much cheaper they were than Tuners Supply. I have found them to be courteous, willing to bend over backward to help, and generally a great bunch of folks to do business with. I think you will agree in time.....Sam

Yeah, I've always been satisfied with Schaff piano supply. Quite often, the local piano supply place here, Pacific Piano, lacks what I need so I've managed to get it from Schaff.

Pianotek isn't bad but I tend to get more specialized items from them(like the key rebushing tool).

I live near Schaff Piano Supply so it is natural I would turn to them first. But having been in the business over 3 decades, I can also say that for the best service, Schaff is unsurpassed. I had bad experiences with APSCO. Sometimes, however, when you need a really unique item or extra high quality, other suppliers are good to know about.
