Who? Me? Spare time? What's that? Oh yes, I vaguely remember, back in another life...

When I 'm not working or commuting to and from work, and when I am not seeing my addictions counselor about my PW problem there isn't much time for anything except eating and sleeping. And cooking of course. [ BTW, the addictions counselor suggested starting a a self help group with a 12 step program: you know:
"My avatar is Cluelesspianoboy and I am a PWoholic" ]

But there are the odd weekend days when I partcipate in a community garden. I also propagate endangered native lilies.

I tried ice fishing once. Got out on the ice and started digging a hole when I heard a booming voice from above saying, "YOU WON'T CATCH ANYTHING THERE!" So I moved on a little ways and started digging again. Again came the big booming voice "YOU WON'T CATCH ANYTHING THERE EITHER!" So I called back and said "WELL, WHY NOT?" The big booming voice answered, "THIS IS A HOCKEY ARENA!"

I'm not sure if we look like we are going to fish or rob a bank.

My favorite hobby is paragliding. Unfortunately I live in the flatlands, so I have to drive to the Alps which is a long ride for me. But the reward is immense smile

OK, the para-gliding out glamors everything so far. That's amazing!

Rod, That bunch looks for all the world like a professional group of cold weather jewel thieves.

I like the "tuna decended from the heavens" scenario. Great marketing.

Rod I don't think I'd spend a night in the ice-fishing cabin with that crew. Any of them play the banjo??

Not a banjo playing person anywhere near. A very unmusical group.

Paragliding, now that's very cool!!!!!

Theres a saying Gregor that goes like this:

Eagles may soar high, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines!

I always wanted to do paragliding...that is until I seen that video of all the mishaps, you know, folding canopies, tangled lines, rogue gusts of wind ect. Now I am content at looking at the wonderful pictures knowing this is all safe...for people with good luck.

Yes, it´s not always safe. But hey, what´s safe in this world? I saw many pictures of really bad car accidents but I am still driving car. Indeed, I am very nervous before every start, but after take off I just feel great :p

Yes, nice hobby. Snoopycar, landing is not the problem. The other way round is the problem: staying high smile

Mostly there is no spare time for me. When I find the time, I usually compose my music and record it in my studio, and play my guitar. I am also working on improving the process of piano restoration by designing handmade devices that allow me to achieve top quality.

Off time is spent mostly with the fam...

For myself, I've finally begun actually practicing a bit of piano again... sick and damn tired of hearing the same handful of jingles over and over again.

Gregor--that looks fun!

My wife likes birdwatching, and I will do it with her. Today we went to a wetlands near the Oakland airport. As we turned in, there was a zeppelin headed straight towards us. When we got there, we could also see a blimp, probably there for the Raiders' game. I got a couple of poor photographs of both the blimp and the zeppelin in the same shot. The zeppelin is operated by Airship Ventures, and is the largest airship in the US.

We saw a variety of ducks, gulls, grebes, pelicans, and shorebirds. The most unusual birds were some Clapper Rails and a Surf Scoter.

I've always enjoyed going out on my horse! We've done a lot of competing, but now we just mess around. Their are some fantastic mountain trails near us, too, that beckon in the summer.

This pic is about 5 years old, but you can see the piano trailer in the background!
