For the last few years I've had trouble getting agraffes that aren't at least 6-8 thousandths under size. This is especially true of 7/32" agraffes. Does anyone have a better source than I have? Or are you just retapping for 1/4" like I've resorted to doing?

Thanks for any ideas.

Hi Dale, I'll ask Dale if he's having the same problem. Hopefully I'll remember.

Keith

Thanks for the note Keith. I'm not sure if all the aggraffes are made by the same supplier. I'm trying not to influence any responses ny saying where I usually get mine.

Hi Dale, Trix was replacing some aggraffes and she looked and they were 7/32. I asked if they were loose and she didn't understand. She meant they weren't loose when she's done.

So I grabbed one and spun it in half way and it had a pretty good wobble in my opinion. I would want lots of thread in the hole or I would worry about it stripping. I guess they aren't coming apart.

You could do what Ron Overs is doing and hook a battery to them and plate them. The additional metal would tighten the threads and make a better temination. Buying the proper chemical bath would be the hardest part.

Hi Keith,

I talked to the supply house about their supplier. (Klinke) They have had a problem they thought solved with the diameter being turned several thousandths on the small side. The ones I have Mic out at .210-.212. They should be 3 or 4 thousandths bigger. I've had trouble with the threads pulling through when tightening so I was looking to see if this was an exception or standard. The supplier thinks it to be a problem as it is outside of spec.

Thanks for the inquiry.
