I ran across a bass string (G1-bichord) that was broken at the bottom of the hitch pin.
This piano also has a string that was previously spliced that broke (at the top 3/4" from the windings)and is now too short to tie a leader on to it (the bass windings are in the way).
Any suggestions on either issue?

Thank you!

Get a new string. Or maybe both of the bichord.

I'll second that, besides, you shouldn't splice on the speaking length anyways.

You can tie a knot in the speaking length. I do it so they won't screw up the hammer while we wait for the new string.
