I have some questions about voicing these hammers:
(1) Where could I find a technician particularly knowledgable and experienced in voicing these hamnmers? I left a message at the Renner website but no one has responded thusfar. Does anyone know a technician in the NYC area who would fit the bill?

(2) If for whatever reason one technician is not succesful in voicing these hammers, would his work make it difficult or impossible for another technician to try to do the job right? Another words, how reversible is voicing (can one tech undo a poor voicing job by another tech)? I realize this is a very general question and therefore may be hard to answer, but any input would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Pianoloverus: Your best bet to find an experienced piano technician/voicer is to go on www.ptg.org and look at "finding a technician". It will direct you geographically to locate many in the NYC area. Then ask each you call if they feel capable. Voicing the Renner hammer is not much different than any other, as the same techniques apply. A good voicer should be able to undo what someone else has done to achieve the desired results. It may be a bit more difficult, and take longer, and the results may not be as long lasting, but is is possible. Guess thats a good reason to get the right tech the first time. Good luck! PNO2NER
