My 1997 copy of Pierce Piano Atlas lists the following: STEWART&SO.,Old Upright#113582
This is the only piano and the only serial number it lists. This seems unusual.

Christopher,

Some rate the Stuart & Sons as the world's finest piano.

Unfortunately, not many have been made yet and I don't think they are distributed anywhere to dealers, so many of us may never get to play one, however their specs are amazing.

There's a recording of some Chopin-Godowski etudes by Australian pianist David Stanhope using the Stuart grand. If I can find my copy I'll post the number and record company.

Found it! The CD is Tall Poppies TP135. Title: David Stanhope Plays.
Bach/Busoni Prelude and Fugue in Eb
Chopin Etude Op. 10 #5
Seven Godowsky etudes based on Op. 10 #5
Chopin Etude Op. 25 #6
Godowsky etude based on Op. 25 #6
Godowsky Passacaglia
Beethoven Symphony #8 (arr. Liszt)

And how does it sound? Well... like a piano. I've never been able to evaluate instruments well through recordings.
