RE: no. 12, Still LMAO laugh laugh Welcome to the forum.

I had my eyes on a long 'A' before my own search ended and your piano reminds me of it. It sounded great, had a cracked board, but still had crown.

For actions, I am a Stanwood adherent. There's plenty on that, if you search. The only admonishment I would make regarding non-Stanwood jobs is that inertia and mass are different things which are all too comonly mixed together for the sake of having an even downweight and upweight. You gotta weigh, weigh, weigh, and keep the two objectives targeted and seperate, IMO. Two cents.

chwejinho,

Sorry to miss a reply to your question about my Steinway A.

I had obviously been away from this forum and topic and didn't see your question until now.

I had sold my Steinway A just over a year ago and it was then rebuilt. Meanwhile I have a Pleyel 131 nice upright.

I had the S&S 'A' for over 40 years and it did need some professional work of high quality and cost so I let it go.

Now I'm thinking of a top quality rebuilt model 0 or B or Bosendorfer 170. I miss the volume, tone and touch of a Tier 1 grand.

Alan

sorry the picture quality is so bad. if you're wondering what the thing beneath her is, it's my bed. (also helps muffle for the sake of my poor downstairs neighbor.) there's no room for anything in this apartment except the piano, i threw pretty much everything else out. laugh

after playing her a while (even with crappy action/hammers), i am wondering if she might be The One, and not just a nice girl i wouldn't mind settling down with.

thanks everyone,
lana

p.s. thanks swinggal for your reply.

The pictures are quite small, but the case looks very presentable as is from what I can make out. I like the style and particularly the music desk. It sounds like you very much like the tone to be thinking it might be The One. I hope that proves to be the case. A bit of action work on top of your purchase price wouldn't discourage me in the least. I'll be interested in hearing more about your growing relationship with your new Significant Other. wink
