From Pierce:
Made in Dayton, KY by Harvard Piano Co. Established 1901 by John Church Co.

Does it have a serial number? How old do you think it is? Pierce has none listed under Dayton, however Harvard Piano Co. goes up to 39000 in 1925.

Best I can tell the only number I see under the top lid is 18142. I have searched everywhere and do not see anymore numbers. The numbers are stamped in the center. Is it worth tuning and are these pianos decent for beginners. The cabinet is beautiful and in excellent shape. Thanks for any info.

I would guess from the serial its vintage 1905-06, as the Dayton was made in the Harvard Piano factory in Dayton Kentucky.
If its a beutiful piece of furniture, than its worth tuning, maybe not up to pitch though.
