After a somewhat exhaustive search, I believe I've found the right piano for me; either a new Steinway K-52 or a new Mason&Hamlin, Model 50. Although each one is different (touch, tone, etc.),I like them both! My question is........is one piano a better made instrument than the other? Thank you, in advance, for any comments you wish to share with me; they're much appreciated!.........................Thanks, Larry

My 1914 K-52 is in excellent shape fundamentally. It's built like a rock

I think the Steinway is a better buy in the long term. The new M&H is the product of several recent( the last 10 years) changes in ownership and manufacturing. The Steinway hasn't changed a lot in over 100 years. But both are really great pianos. Good Luck!!

I own a Steinway K from 1911 and it is a monster. It has a wonderful sound that fills the room. I have had hardly any problems with it. I recommend this piano to anyone looking for a 52" upright.
