So my piano tech comes over to tune and he says to me, "This piano is really starting to bloom nicely. Sweet instrument." So I says, "Good--- time for a party."

And why not. After a year-and-a-half of tunings, regulation, playing-in, and acoustic treatments to the room, the 6½-foot RX5 does sound good, feel nice to the touch, and play well. So we set the date and time:

Saturday, March 21, 2009, 7:00 - 9:00 PM.

I live in the south end of the San Francisco Bay Area, in San Jose near Capitol and Snell. Any of our Piano World members who would like to come over will be welcome. We'll socialize, visit, play, listen, eat refreshments, talk pianos and music. I'll brace the neighbors up; a couple of them even play.

Please get in touch by PM if you would like to come.

Thanks, Monster--- didn't even know that was a forum. Looks like there are a fair many in the Bay Area... though the other end of it is some 70 miles away. It's ok, I didn't have room for all 39,000 PW members anyway.

Well, I guess if I can finally finish painting the interior trim in the house, I can learn to upload photos here. I have the directions printed out somewhere. Neither are challenges I've met so far... but, I did get a curtain up for acoustical treatment on the big sheetrock wall in the living room. That killing my ears with standing waves that were beating back and forth between the walls, the pergo, and the windows. I would have had to take out a second mortgage to put up that special acoustical foam, but a curtain, backed with furniture pads like movers use, was affordable and seems to work pretty well. One of those things you'd never get around to if you weren't having people over.

Sorry about you guys who are too far away to come, but thanks for the encouragement.

Thanks, Betty. I will get some pictures. Guess I'd better study up on how to post them (I have the instructions here somewhere). We have some very fine people coming, food and drink, and the piano is in tune. If nothing else, the house has gotten more spruced up than it would ever have gotten otherwise--- clean windows and everything.

Thanks for your good wishes.
