I hope it's temporary too.

I've written to their webmaster and their technical contact (found the listing in the WhoIs directory of NetworkSolutions).
It says he is from India.

I'll let you know if I find out anything.

Back in June, I ordered a CD containing all the material from the website in PDF format. The contact information was:

Sheet Music Archive Ordering Page
... your payment of $9.95 with your name and address to: The Sheet Music Archive c/o

here's what someone posted over on Larry's site:

Looks like the domain name registration either expired and Natex intentionally or unintentionally didn't renew it, or the domain name has been hijacked (through Bulkregister by a company in India it appears). If you really need to get some of the PDF files, they're still visible on the Natex server at www.sheetmusicarchive.org *IF* you set your DNS lookup to use the Natex servers (at 65.192.75.3 and 65.192.75.5). If you don't know how to do this, go to http://www.opennic.unrated.net/personal.html for a quick explanation. If this is still all very confusing, email the owners of the Sheet Music Archive at sma@natex.com to ask them about getting the Sheet Music Archive back up.

The site is up and running, they just lost the use of the name (temporarily, I hope). In the meantime, instead of typing in www.sheetmusicarchive.org, type in http://65.192.75.39 or click this link . Let me know if it doesn't work.

Wow, thanks Matt!! cool Your link works, thanks for finding it for us!!!! That is such a great site, I was really upset when I thought it was gone forever....it's such a fabulous reference for sound clips as well as sheet music.

Hi Everyone,

I tried http://www.sheetmusicarchive.net/ and it works for me. See, it's a .net now, I guess instead of .com or .org... Go figure! wink

Hope this helps,
Nathan
