Hi, I like to play easy/intermediate music on the piano, but I've been playing the same for quite some time now, and I would like to learn some new songs.
To give you an idea of what i like to play, I like to play almost anything from Yann Tiersen and Philip Glass. The hardest song I play probably is Prokofiev's Montagues and Capulets, so you know more or less my level.
Thanks

Hello there! how are you?

That sounds like lots of fun. These are some of the composers that I suggest:

Bach (Inventions)
Clementi (Sonatinas - good for you)
Gillock (Anything, he's amazing)
Mendelssohn (Songs Without Words--they're beautiful and not too challenging, great fun to play)
Mozart (Sonatas - all good for you)

What pieces are you working on currently?

Hi Potajito,

An intermediate song that I love is the the piece "To Zanarkand." Yes strange title. Anyway, it sounds amazing.
Check it out on youtube, search To Zanarkand Piano Collections"

I would also suggest Bach 2 part inventions. They are, in my opinion, crucial to a pianists development.

I would also suggest you listen to some Chopin Preludes and Waltzes. I'm sure you would love a lot of those.

Scarlatti sonatas are very beautiful and require some techniques that are not usual in the much of piano literature.

You may enjoy anything from the Final Fantasy Piano Collection -- there are many different styles that might suit you.

For something similar to Glass, look for Einaudi Ludovico. Le Onde is my favorite of his. I also second the Chopin Preludes suggestion. No. 4, 6 or 20 are great ones to start out with.

Welcome to the forum, Potajito! smile

If you like Tiersen and Glass, I'm willing to bet you'll love the work of Ludovico Einaudi. Check out the Einaudi mega-thread for discussion of his work and links to lots of recordings.
