hello all!!!!

I am the proud new owner of a Yamaha Upright U3. She's about twenty years old, and she's got a great sound to her with a full base.

She's frisky and is ready to meet new people (figuratively speaking).

I am so excited. I've been playing on a electronic keyboard up until now, and it just stinks so much. Nothing in the world can come close to matching the sound of a real accoustic piano.

I can wait to hang out with her. =)

I know the feeling. While I'm here, I have to settle for an electronic keyboard (but it helps to hav friends with acoustic pianos). My piano is at home in San Diego, waiting for me to play it again.

Congratulations on your acquisition. May you and your piano make music together for a long time to come. smile

Regards,
Lyn F.

Hi db101...

Congratulations, the U-3 is a great piano and I am also knocked out by the bass on the one I have played in the past.

Nothing beats a new, good piano. I remember when I got my piano (a Pleyel, not a Yamaha, though) I just sat there playing thirds for about an hour after the movers left. The sound was so wonderful. The newness has worn off and my ear now expects that quality-- so now it's in reverse, when I play other pianos I am struck by how few live up to the quality I get in my own piano.

I hope you have many happy years with your new friend!

Nina
