A post on the piano forum where the poster complained about the repetition mechanism on his piano got me thinking about all the pieces with famous repeated note passages. I could only think of four:
Scarlatti Sonatas in d(Argerich famous encore)and the in G(recorded by Horowitz), Alaborada del Gracioso, Caprice Espagnol
I'm sure there must be many others so start listing!

Duo Concertante by Stravinsky and the Sonata by Janacek, both for violin and piano. Pasquinade by Gottschalk. Opening of the Waldstein Sonata, and the last of the Op. 33 Bagatelles.

The ending of La Campanella has repeated octaves, and the beginning of the "Friska" of the HR2 has some repeated c sharps which need dextrous handling...
The start of the of the Rach3 movement 3 has some treacherous repeated notes for the 'weaker' fingers...

In my original post I was thinking more of examples of single repeated notes played with one hand(not ala Waldstein or Prok Toccata).

I have a book with ten of Domenico Scarlatti's sonatas, and yeah, he has many parts where he plays one note over a measure repeatedly.

Ravels Toccata from Tombeau de Couperin, Liszts Tarantelle from (the 2nd?) Annees De Pelerinage, Debussys "Repeated Note" Etude (I have no idea what number off the top of my head...4? 5?)

The first movement from the Appassionata, right before the Ab major theme first appears.
I love that passage too. Quite tense and chilling when it's played well.

Variation 5 in Liszt's Totentanz, also his 'Les Huguenots' paraphrase has several repeated-note passages scattered throughout.

Not sure how famous but just mentioning a rather simple piece to learn: Bach's, English Suite No.3, Gavotte I. The sound of the repeated note portion in the l.h. is one the things that attracted me to the piece when I first heard it.

How about Alkan's Concerto for Solo Piano. The first movement has several pages of relentless repeated notes that go on for miles and miles.
John
