I'm preparing for a recital on the 8th. I have just given a recital last month. I played "Maple Leaf Rag" and recieved standing applause. I will be played the Chopin No. 3 Prelude in G major in addition to the Rag at this coming up recital. Wish me luck. wink

I'm going to have two Christmas recitals, one a duet and the other requiring me to play a christmas piece I've arranged. I'm going "A Christmas Song" with an Impressionistic sound. It sounds really nice. After that I have another recital in January and a music festival to play in for February. I've got a lot to work on, but it feels like I'm improving!

Very nice selections. I'd love to hear your arrangement of A Christmas Song. Any chance you could record MP3 or MIDI for us?

Sure, they recorded my last recital, so I think they should do it again. If they don't I can always enter it into Sibelius and post the MIDI, but, especially with an Impressionistic piece, the computer won't be able to do justice.

Yeah, creating a MIDI file from a score isn't even close to the same as recording a MIDI file from a digital piano. Can you imagine how bad a blues score would sound when converted straight to MIDI? eek

Actually, Sibelius has this swing and rubato thing that makes it sound incredibly good.

Thanks!

I gave the recital today, and yes, it went very well. I should be getting a CD of it and I might be able to post the MP3.
The piano sounded simply WONDERFUL. I got up there, sat down and the pieces played themselves. I got feelings out of the Prelude in G major I had never gotten before, even the local classical music buff there was seriously impressed. I'm retiring the Maple Leaf Rag from my recitals for awhile and I'm polishing Debussy's Doctor Gradus ad Parnassum.

Gald to hear that it went well. Look forward to the MP3! BTW, on what piano did you play?

I don't really remember, I was too nervous to check, but it might have been a Yamaha. I really don't know.
