Hi all,
what is the BEST-ever technique, to improve "trills"....???
its not that i "can't" do them, I CAN! i just want to make them easier, and more relaxed to attempt!
hope to hear from someone with a suggestion, if not the same problem!

I wanted to find out a way to do more "relaxed" trills also. I found out the best way to do it, is just to relax in general...Don't force trills. Tension makes them sound like sh**

Place you fingers on the two keys and them roll your wrist back and fourth, gentaly. This is a technique that my teacher gave me and it seems to work great.

is it bad to do trills with not a lot of wrist movement? i can do them quite proficiently with my second and third fingers, as well as 3rd and 4th, but i don't seem to have the wrist rotation that everyone is describing...

I've done a lot of work on trills the last few weeks. I don't think "movement" in the wrist is what's important, so much as keeping it "loose." If your hand and wrist are tight, the trills will suffer and you could really wear out your fingers or even hurt yourself. In my mind, the wrist movement described is really a technique for keeping a loose wrist. If you can do that without the movement, more power to you. But, I think you'll find that movement will help.
