since when is the word ****ed? (Papa, India, Sierra, Sierra, Echo, Delta) automatically **** out? Is this what we can expect from the new administration?

I wasn't aware that PW has a new administration.

That word has been on the bleep list for quite sometime - at least a year or so.

And PW doesn't have a new administration. I believe he's talking about Obama.

I agree with the “administration” who ever that is.

I’m not a saint myself, and I can use an off-colored term on occasion, but the word in question is somewhat of an off-colored street term. In other words, it’s not a high-class word that high-class professionals usually use. It’s a street term that a lot of red-necks, thugs and gangs use.

Of course, if you were to say “you urinated me off”, it might be a little more politically correct, but still not very nice language on a public forum. Let’s keep the forum as civil and “G” rated as possible.

Best regards,

Rickster

I agree with Rickster. This is about the only forum that I have found that stays on topic and actually contains useful information. Base off -color language doesn't add to that.

Only a government can censor in any meaningful sense. Any privately owned entity can set whatever rules they want in regards to language use.

hehe I don't want to get drawn into pointless semantics, as I am not particularly bothered. Personally I am not precious about what kind of language adults use when conversing with one another ,as I stopped blushing years ago wink but am happy to respect the rights of the forum owners etc. A little 'bad' language never hurt anyone - it's all there to be used as with any other form of expression smile

I don't see how profanity could add value to a piano forum. In any case there are better ways to express emotion than resorting to obscenities.

I come to this forum to GET AWAY from politics, especially this year. The old Coffee Room was rather rough and tumble. Frankly, I don't miss it.

Exactly!

I tried relaxing the rules, and it quickly turned nasty. Having grown up working in construction, on the sea (tug boats, fishing draggers, off-shore lobster boats, on the docks with the long-shoremen), and cross-country trucking, I'm no prude.

But I made a concious decision to keep things clean and G (or at the most PG) rated on the piano forums. This is a family friendly site, and I'd like to keep it that way.

The economy is going down the toilet, and the piano industry led the way. We have more pressing issues to be concerned about. YMMV.

I rest my case - the administration has not changed.

"And that's a good thing!" (Thank you Martha Stewart)

Thank you Frank!
