I was browsing for caracature art, when I came across Sebastian Kruger's take on this famous beethoven painting: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/6f/Beethoven.jpg/300px-Beethoven.jpg

Now look at Kruger's version!

http://bp3.blogger.com/_ZdSjEry1Lo0/RykDYOeYt6I/AAAAAAAAADU/UpAontqj0qU/s1600-h/lvb07.jpg

Pretty clever I think, and certainly not a mockary of Beethoven, alot of Kruger's art is quite harsh, although very funny.

I'd love to see some more cractures of famous pianists / composers, but I can't seem to locate any, I guess this is another "piano art" thread!

Cheers

The Beethoven there looks a bit older. Or maybe it's the make-up it's lacking. The forehead should be larger.

He turned that frown upside down! Makes Beethoven look like a kind old man (much happier looking than any portraits done by the painters who had Beethoven in front of them)

It's Jeffrey Archer. I don't quite get the joke though.

I think he makes Beethoven look like some creepy old man! Wouldn't let him near my kids (if I had any).

Kind of like Schubert (or was it Schumann...)

That's really an interesting photo.

Beethoven must have been looking in a mirror to have an expression on his face like that smile

ha ha I think Kruger has done one of Wagner too. I think he's done a pretty good job for a mere 4 hours of work. I had an art exam a few weeks ago, my acrylic painting of Pavarotti took 10 hours to finish!

ha ha I love Pavarotti too, Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of it, because it's still at school waiting to be marked! When i'll get it back (or get a chance to take a pic) i'll PM it you.

I based the picture around the artist Salvador Dali (we had to chose an artist to base it on you see, more GCSE stuff!) so I painted Pavarotti's singing face in the background with an array of flying sheet music passing his face (growing from the distance to the foreground) and on one of the sheets I painted a mystery conductor. Also there's a birdseye view of a left handed! grand piano...

I was pretty happy with the final result! wish I had a pic now....
