We had our concerto competition here at WVU this past weekend and I played like absolute bollocks...but I still won somehow. So I get to play the Rachmaninov Paganini Rhapsody with the orchestra in March!!! I'll be sure to post the recording after the performance. Sorry, just wanted to gloat awhile :p

I found out today that the orchestra is quite small this year. 13 violins, 3 violas, 6 cellos, and three basses. The wind sections are closer to normal orchestra size. I'm afraid I'm going to drown them out some of the time when I have loud chordal/octave passages. I hope the performance/recording will still turn out okay.

Yahtzee : a trademarked board game involving rolling dice and keeping score.

Could you explain to me, then, what Yahtzee means in the context of this thread?

Thanks.

He's probably saying that even though he thought his performance was bad, he still won. He's saying that he was very lucky. It takes luck to get a Yahtzee.
